Activity: Project C – Infinite Runner Game
I'll be using Unity to create a fullscreen infinite runner in the upcoming weeks, drawing inspiration from games like Subway Surfers. Starting with a core implementation, the project will grow with additional functionality, enhanced physics, and a polished look.
Development Plan (≈40 hours total):
1. Base Game Implementation – 8h
- Player movement, smooth camera follow, and endless segment generation
- Basic coin collection, collision handling, and score tracking
- Initial visuals, animations, and lighting pass
2. Code Refactor & Setup – 3h
- Clean structure, modular components, prefab setup
3. Physics & Controls Enhancement – 6h
- Add realistic jump curve, acceleration, slope support
4. Gameplay Features – 6.5h
- Add power-ups, speed scaling, obstacle variety
- Visual/audio feedback for actions
5. Obstacle & World Logic – 4.5h
- Fair random spawning, obstacle difficulty ramping
6. Testing & Balancing – 11h
- Debugging, gameplay tuning, input checks
- Feedback changes (after playtesting)
7. Devlogs & Polish – 3h
- Write progress logs, document major changes
Outcome Goals:
- A polished, full-screen infinite runner playable on desktop
- Potential future extensions: boss chase mode, online leaderboard, daily challenges
